Purdie Worldwide began life as a coal merchants back in 1960 in Blackburn, West Lothian. With many locals asking for help in moving furniture when moving house, Matt Purdie saw the business potential and bought his first dedicated removal truck in the early 60s. Over the years, and 2 generations, the company has grown dramatically to be leading furniture movers and house removals company. Although we now deal with global logistic issues and offer removal services worldwide, we very much remain a local and family-run business. As members of the British Association of removers (BAR) and with an approved code from Trading Standards UK, the Purdie team provide exceptionally high standards of professionalism and customer service.
We offer removal, shipping, and storage services, and as members of the International Association of Movers (IAM), we hold an international shipping licence, which means we do not have to deal with third parties.
